I paint what appeals to me and change my working method to suit the subject matter. Currently I have been enjoying making monoprints using a gelatin plate, I then use those prints to make my collage paintings. This work is very meditative and involves a lot of problem solving which stimulates me and keeps me in my painting zone.

A member of several Arizona arts organizations, Melanie Harman has been living and working in Arizona since 1987. For several years she was the Senior Center Chair for Arizona Artists Guild, organizing member shows at the Beatitudes Campus and at the Devonshire Senior Center. She was also Arizona Watercolor Association treasurer and is currently Membership Chair for Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona. Originally from England, she is now a US citizen and enjoys hiking and travel.
